Widely regarded as a Kiwi icon and staple the humble meat pie has been part of New Zealand’s cuisine since early British settlement. In present times, these hand-size pastries can be located in bakeries, cafés, dairies (the local name for convenient or corner stores), supermarkets, and service stations. The varieties on offer are endless. Although Lydia’s favorite is firmly a mince and cheese pie…one can’t beat a classic!
Heaven!! Drooling at this image…my favorite pie! One can’t beat the simple mince and cheese! Yum!!An actual photo I took from a real life pie shop before I began devouring…..although judging by the scarcity of pies in this photo, I possibly took this image post eating! Some people love a pie with ketchup….personally I think this is sacrilege:)
